A short
biography of Fr. Ted.... Reverend Mr. Ted Prentice was born in Portland in 1963 to Robert and Marianne Prentice. One of eight children, Ted attended Pope John XXIII elementary school in Portland, and graduated from Portland’s Benson Polytechnic High School in 1981. He graduated from the University of Portland in 1985 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned a Master of Divinity degree from Mount Angel Seminary in 2004. Ted worked as a mechanical
engineer for companies in the Los Angeles, CA,
area after college graduation. At the same time, he served as a
teaching
assistant at a Catholic alternative high school in South-Central Los
Angeles. In 1995 Ted returned to Portland. He entered Mount Angel Seminary in the fall of 1998. His ministry training has included being an elder visitor at Mount Saint Joseph in Portland, serving as pastoral minister to the Latino community at Holy Redeemer Parish in North Portland, and participated in clinical pastoral education at the Oregon State Hospital. Ted spent the summer of 2002 at the Mexican American Cultural Center in a Spanish immersion program. He served a year as pastoral intern at Christ the King Parish, Milwaukie, and has served as a deacon this past year at St. Mary Parish, Mount Angel.
